Eco Honeymoons

Eco Honeymoons are the new trend in post-nuptial celebrations. Newlyweds are heading across the world to enjoy earth-friendly resorts. These vacations spots help to preserve the planet in many different ways without sacrificing the wonderful experience of the honeymoon retreat.

Many of these resorts are earth-friendly from the bery beginning through their building processes. Many use huts, tents, bungalows, and cottages built from natural materials for couples to enjoy. Most are built into the environment, some by hand, in such ways as not to disturb the natural surroundings. Others actually use the environment to provide architectural structure, including seating areas and design attributes. Using solar panels to harness the sun’s energy provides these bungalows with electricity so couples aren’t left completely in the dark. However, many resorts forgo traditional air-conditioning and use open-air designs for cooling.

These eco resorts have also instituted recycling programs in their areas. Many also have started conservation programs for the animal and sea life in the surrounding environment. They use organic gardens grown on the resorts’ property for guest restaurants. Some also have water conservation programs that recycle their own water and include conserving laundry services by reusing towels.

Eco Honeymoons don’t forgo activities in order to be eco-friendly. Many encourage guests to get into nature by kayaking with wildlife, hiking through natural forests, horseback riding, and snorkeling. They capitalize these experiences with biological experts that provide guests with information about the natural surroundings.

Eco honeymoons don’t leave out the romanticism either. Couples have the option of massages and other relaxing spa treatments. Restaurants provide a romantic atmosphere for couples to dine. Most of all these resorts get the most out of the natural setting. There is nothing more romantic than being surrounded by crystal blue-green water and white beaches or majestic mountain ranges and clear blue skies that go on forever.

Planning a Romantic Winter Wedding

July 5, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

A winter wedding can be a truly enchanting occasion that warms the heart, especially in the cold weather. Many people believe that winter is the best and most beautiful time to get married.

The first thing to do is choose your venue. One of the main perks of choosing a winter wedding is the cost. Spring is usually the peak season for weddings, so if you choose to set your date for the winter, you might be eligible for a venue discount, depending on where you choose. Churches are the most common venue for weddings, however, many beautiful hotels and country inns have amazing ballrooms and wedding areas that are just as beautiful. Make sure that you book early enough in advance to secure your date!

Once you have booked your venue, you can begin to choose a theme. Many winter weddings incorporate the holiday season into their theme, but you can stretch your imagination when choosing the theme and colors. Winter colors, such as silver, gold, emerald, red, and bold shades of blue are great colors for a winter wedding. Remember that when its cold outside, the perfect combination of colors can make a person feel warm and cozy inside, which is the loving feeling you are looking for.

Food is a big part of a wedding reception, so make sure that you choose entrees that are hearty and comforting. Classic, filling winter holiday food is something that nobody ever gets tired of, so don’t feel like you have to compete with Christmas. Its your day!

When you decorate the venue, try draping fabrics or using lots of greenery to make a nice, warm, environment that is very lush and inviting. As churches can often be cold and uncomfortable, keep this in mind when you try to create the perfect winter wedding environment!

With the right creative touches, you can have the perfect winter wedding!
